Dr. Christopher Higgins
Dr. Higgins is a quantitative geographer and spatial analyst with a focus on sustainable cities. His primary interests are the relationships between travel behaviour, accessibility, the built environment, policy and planning, innovation and knowledge economies, and demographics. His Ph.D. was funded by a SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship and the resulting research measured land value uplift and the potential for land value capture from transit accessibility and transit-oriented development around rapid transit stations in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. Chris holds seats on the board of the Canadian Transportation Research Forum and the Light Rail Transit Committee at the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce.
